On-Camera Acting

This course is suitable for beginner actors who are interested in learning the basics techniques of acting for the camera. Adults 16+

This is also for screenwriters and directors who would like to learn the acting side.

*This class is collaborative with a mixture of actors, writers and directors and is perfect for training as well as networking.

• Film Terms & Camera Angles
• Story & Script Analysis
• Character Development
• Basic Acting Techniques
• Audition Techniques
• Scenes & Camera Work
• Business of Acting

Materials: Notebook (for notes), Pencil, SD Card, Props & Costumes recommended. 

This on-going drop-in course is suitable for intermediate film actors who are continuing their acting training and who have several film credits under their belt. Adults 16+

Prerequisites: On-Camera Acting I or Basic Acting for the Camera or a basic understanding of acting techniques and film sets.

Students will be putting into practice what they learned in Basic Acting for the Camera. Students will workshop scenes and monologues in front of the camera. 

Students are expected to be early and be prepared and memorized before class. 

Concepts Covered:

• Universal Objective: Simple, Basic & Active
• Chemistry/Connection: Wants, Observation & Tactics
• Camera Work: Eye-lines, Movement & Technical Terminology
• Character: Doings, Movement & Quirks
• Psychology of Acting & Filmmaking
• Subtext: Layering, Dynamic & Compelling. 

We will use techniques from:

• Stanislavski
• Strasberg
• Hagen
• Alder
• Chubbuck
• Practical Aesthetics

Materials: Notebook (for notes), Pencil & SD Card. Props & Costumes recommended. 

This on-going, drop-in course is suitable for intermediate and advanced film actors who are looking to workshop and rehearse scenes on a regular basis. Adults 16+

Best for working actors who have a strong understanding of acting techniques.

Students are expected to be early and be prepared and memorized before class. Students are also expected to have updated resumes, headshots and reels.
